QSO Transcriber processes recordings, transcripts, detected callsigns and saved QSO information locally on your iPhone. The app does not upload this material for transcription or analysis. This website is separate from the app and does not receive your radio recordings.

Website and contact form

You can read this website without an account. The Contact page prepares an email draft in your own mail app using the name, email address, subject and message you enter. The website does not submit or store these form entries. You review the draft and choose whether to send it. Please do not include passwords, recordings or sensitive personal information.

If you send the draft, your email provider and our receiving Gmail account process the message. We use received contact details to reply and handle your enquiry. Correspondence is kept while reasonably needed for support, follow-up or applicable obligations. You can request deletion through the Contact page, subject to applicable retention obligations; copies held by your own email provider are managed by you.

Technical data, cookies and services

The hosting provider, WordPress and the site’s existing security, statistics and consent tools may process technical information such as IP address, browser and device details, pages visited, request times and error logs. This supports site delivery, security, spam prevention and understanding site use. Hosting and service providers control their own log retention periods.

The site may use functional cookies for WordPress administration, security and remembering consent choices. Optional statistics or other non-essential cookies, where used, are governed by the site’s consent settings. We do not use this website to collect app audio, transcripts or QSO logs.

QSO Transcriber app

The iPhone app records or imports audio you choose, creates transcripts using Apple’s on-device speech technology, analyzes the conversation and identifies callsign candidates locally. It stores the original audio, raw transcript, reviewed QSO fields, settings and recovery data in its local app storage. The raw recording and transcript remain separate from suggested or edited log information.

Apple speech language models may need an explicit download before offline transcription is available. The model request does not include your recordings, transcripts or QSO records. The app has no developer-operated cloud processing, account system, advertising, tracking SDK, analytics SDK or external callsign lookup.

Export, retention and deletion

App data stays on the iPhone until you delete a QSO or remove the app. QSO records and their associated audio can be deleted in the app. The app’s local data is excluded from automatic device backups; removing the app removes its local data.

When you choose to export, the app opens the iOS share sheet. ADIF exports contain selected log fields. A QSO ZIP export can contain the selected original audio, raw and enhanced transcripts and structured information. You choose the destination; that destination or service then handles the copy under its own privacy terms. Exported copies must be deleted separately.
